The main entrance of Ely Cathedral, Cambridgeshire, England. The present building dates back to 1083, and cathedral status was granted in 1109.
The beautiful Ely Cathedral. Founded in 673 as a double monastery from a small church in ruins by St. Etheldreda. Work began on the current Cathedral in 1109 but suffered as many did during Henry VII's reformation with many of the statues and carvings being destroyed.
