Oil Pastel Mastery course
These are just two of the many lessons in my new Oil Pastel Mastery course, which is now open for enrollment. In these lessons, I explain in detail how to approach color with oil pastels, considering its four attributes: value, hue, saturation, and temperature—and how to adjust each one based on what you see in your subject. We start with value studies and then move on to applying color while preserving the value relationships established in those studies. https://color-mastery.com/oil-pastel-mastery-launch

Flowers and sunshine are all I need for the next month 🌞🌷❇️ This was my first time using oil pastel on wood panel and I loved the experience. The pigments just glide right on! I sketched Lily of the Inca blossoms in bud vases. More of this please 😍 Apologies for the odd camera angles, I'm an artist not a content creator at heart 🤣 This piece is available at the link in my bio, or send me a DM! 🫶🏻 #oilpastelartist #utahmom #freshflowers #utahartist #drawfromlife #inmystudio #greenthumb #l...

Sunday play 🤍 I challenged myself to create multiple paintings from a single set of 30 @sennelier1887 soft pastels and I loved it! There are so many more possibilities to explore. Soft pastels are like little jewels and certainly fun and addicting to collect, but you don’t need much to create something beautiful. Pastels + paper and that’s all you need. Let the magic happen. Get lost in the scratchy whispers, let yourself feel the pigments and feel like a kid again in the process. ✨
