a drawing of a house on top of a cliff with stairs leading up to it
In our latest feature, Dinotopia creator @jamesgurneyart explains how to sketch from life in a freeing way to create imaginative art. "While sketching at the zoo one morning, a small boy asked me for a pencil and a piece of paper. He proceeded to transform the bison near us into an alien monster, complete with attack bees, laser beams, and sound effects. Comparing his sketch to mine, I realised how I was limiting myself by trying to render the bison literally. Seeing the boy’s creativity ma...

@how___studio is one of the most exciting agencies out there are the moment, with recent projects including Chester Zoo and Big Cartel. And a new project, for Jupi, is already causing quite the stir. Jupi is an AI-powered OS that learns from your actions, habits and culture to align every quandary you face into your overarching strategy. That might sound complicated but it's actually pretty simple. Surreally simple is in fact the phrase that Jupi is going for, and its new identity matches t...

Yesterday I spent a very enjoyable couple of hours going round @newblood_dandad. I was judging the 'Ones to Watch' category, a coveted prize that gives the brightest young creatives an extra boost.

It was hard. We had less than two hours to go around the whole of Protein Studios in Shoreditch, covering multiple stands, and pick our top three creatives, ideally from a range of disciplines.

a person holding up a cell phone case with buttons on the front and back sides
I've used the Nothing Phone (3) and it is more than a phone, it's a creative tool. @Nothing's new smartphone continues the focus on design and original thinking, with a new Glyph dot matrix display that uses 'toys' – animated apps and games, and a unique AI that could replace your familiar search and notes apps. Having tried Nothing Phone (3), it's an impressive phone with a surprisingly powerful Snapdragon chip and cameras – pro presets mean you can achieve dramatic photography styles at a...

Recently, I was lucky enough to get my hands on the new Nothing Headphone (1). From the moment I unboxed my Nothing Headphone (1) and unzipped the hard case they sit inside, I felt as if I'd stumbled onto a lost prop from Blade Runner or TRON. Brand Nothing is grasping for a future envisioned in the '70s and early '80s, picking from Syd Mead's approach to design, these headphones aren't simply about creating something futuristic, but crafting how that future would feel.
