What you should use: 🖊️ The recommendation for signing paintings is usually the same thing you used to make the work. But on the back you may want to have more freedom to write normally. Regular pens & sharpies aren’t so archival, pencil is archival but usually too soft and can be erased. The best thing is to use paint, an archival acid free pen or an acrylic paint marker like this a Posca markers.
