We wanted to help all the students in our classroom feel included and one way was for our class to design our own celebration. We started by creating criteria for a great celebration, studied other festivals and events people in our class celebrate and then made up our own. Our upper elementary classroom compared the celebrations to the criteria and decided which would be the best to hold in our class. It was so much fun!
