Anton Stankowski (1906 - 1998) was a German graphic designer, photographer & painter. He developed an original Theory of Design & pioneered Constructive Graphic Art. Typical Stankowski designs attempt to illustrate processes/behaviours rather than objects. Such experiments resulted in the use of fractal-like structures long before their popularisation by Benoît Mandelbrot in 1975, Please see his great graphics on the Board "Swiss Graphic Designs".
Blaze The 35-sq-m Blaze installation was created by architect Ian McChesney, who arranged 472 gold anodised aluminium staves in long, intertwining circular structures. As people drive by the structure, multiple grid patterns are unveiled; this is further enhanced by the fact that the aluminium staves sway gently in wind. Blaze is located outside London.
