Teco Pottery circa 1915 - Around 1885, William Day Gates established Gates Potteries in Crystal Lake, Illinois. After years of trial and error, he developed a cool, silvery green matte glaze that resembled the tones of aged bronze. Combining the first letters of the words terra and cotta, Gates named the new pottery Teco and began selling the line in 1900.
This is a porcelain thrown pot in blue with a wavy top by David White. David uses up to six glazes on one pot to get this extraordinary crackled glaze effect and he often glaze fires his pots until he is satisfied with the results. SOLD
